Installed ESD flooring runs 3.34 to 13.55 a square foot
That is a published market range, built from bid data across more than 250 commercial ESD projects[8]. It is not our quote. It is here so you walk into the conversation with a number, because most of this industry will not give you one.
The five things that move your number
A square foot of ESD floor is not one price because a square foot of concrete is not one condition. These are what a real quote is actually pricing.
What is down there now
Bare concrete is the cheap case. An old coating, tile adhesive, a sealer or years of wax all have to come off before anything can bond, and that is labour and dust control before a single gallon gets opened.
Cracks, joints and flatness
Cracks get chased and filled. Control joints get treated. A slab that is out of flat needs more material to level. None of this shows up in a square foot number until somebody looks at the room.
What the slab is holding
A slab over the F2170 limit needs a mitigation layer before the system goes down, and that is a real line item. Skipping it is how a floor debonds a year later.
Conductive or dissipative
Different formulations and different system builds. Conductive systems are typically a fuller build with a grounding network, which is work a dissipative job may not carry.
Whether the room keeps running
A shut room in daylight is the cheapest job there is. Nights, weekends and phasing around live production are where the cost lives, and it is usually the biggest single variable.
How many square feet
Mobilisation, containment and prep equipment cost roughly the same for a small room as a large one, so the per foot number falls as the area grows. Small rooms sit at the top of the range for exactly this reason.

Questions
Why will nobody quote ESD flooring over the phone?
Because the biggest cost driver is what is under the floor and how the room runs, and neither is knowable from a phone call. Anyone who gives you a firm number without seeing the slab is quoting a hope. Send us the room and we will price it.
Is ESD epoxy really more expensive than regular epoxy?
Yes, and for a real reason. The topcoat is carbon loaded so it can carry a charge, which is a different formulation, and the finished floor has to be measured with instruments rather than looked at. Published installed pricing for ESD systems runs 3.34 to 13.55 per square foot[8], above non rated epoxy.
Can we do it in phases to spread the cost?
Often, yes, and it is a common way to keep a plant running. Tell us how the space is used and where the natural boundaries are, and we will build the sequence around your schedule rather than ours.
What is not in the square foot number?
Usually moisture mitigation if the slab needs it, removal of a heavy existing coating, and any out of hours premium. Ask for those to be broken out on any quote you receive, ours included, so you are comparing the same scope.
