Standard

DESR 6055.09

The US Department of Defense explosives safety regulation. It makes conductive flooring mandatory in specific energetics areas.

2.5 x 10^4 to 1.0 x 10^6ohmsANSI/ESD STM7.1 / ASTM D257 (as cited on manufacturer TDS)

What it means for your floor

01

The rooms it names

Ammunition load, assemble and pack areas. Explosives processing. Propellant casting. Pyrotechnic assembly. Energetics manufacturing. In those rooms conductive flooring, not merely dissipative, is the requirement.

02

Why conductive and not dissipative

In an energetics area the discharge is the hazard, not the sensitivity of a component. The floor has to move a charge away before it can build to an ignition energy, so the faster band is the specified one.

03

Current edition

Edition 1, Change 2, dated 25 November 2025. If your contract language quotes DoD 4145.26-M, that is the predecessor document and worth checking against the current regulation before you specify.
