What it means for your floor
Printed two ways, same document
You will see this cited as STM7.1 and as S7.1, including on manufacturer data sheets. Many report templates still print S7.1. They refer to the same floor resistive characterization method.
Point to point and point to ground
The method covers resistance measured between two points on the floor and from a point on the floor to the building ground. Both readings matter: a floor can be continuous across its own surface and still not be tied properly to ground.
Before and after
It is used twice. Once to qualify a material before it is chosen, and again to accept and then monitor the installed floor. The second use is what makes a resistance log a living document rather than a one day certificate.
