ESD flooring for pharmaceutical and laboratory
Instrument rooms and production suites where a static sensitive process, a cleanliness requirement and a chemical resistance requirement all land on one floor.
under 1.0 x 10^9ohmsANSI/ESD STM97.1
under 100voltsANSI/ESD STM97.2
2.5 x 10^4 to 1.0 x 10^6ohmsANSI/ESD STM7.1 / ASTM D257 (as cited on manufacturer TDS)
What is different about these rooms
01
Chemical exposure is a second spec
Spill and cleaning chemistry constrain the system as much as the resistance band does. Both belong in Part 2 of the specification.
02
Powders generate charge
Dry handling processes build static readily, which is often what puts a resistance requirement on a room that has no electronics in it at all.
03
Documentation is the deliverable
In a validated environment the readings, the schedule and the change control around them are as much the product as the floor.
